SCULPTRA

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an FDA approved injectable that stimulates the body to create more collagen, restoring a youthful, and rejuvenated appearance. The body’s collagen production decreases as we age. This contributes to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles as well as hollow areas of the face, such as smile lines, temples or on the jawline. Sculptra is used to restore volume and smooth these areas, leaving you with a natural and revitalized appearance.

How does Sculptra work?

Sculptra is composed of synthetic, biocompatible material known as poly-L-lactic acid, and it works by stimulating your body’s natural collagen production; which is vital for a youthful appearance. Once we reach the age of forty, the average individual has already lost up to twenty percent of their collagen. However, after being treated with Sculptra, collagen production will increase over a the following few weeks in a gradual and natural manner.

What are the areas you can use Sculptra on?

Sculptra can be used in several areas of the face to restore a smoother, plumper and youthful complexion. These are:

  • Marionette lines, or the vertical lines that are found at the corner of the mouth and run downward.

  • Smile lines.

  • The wrinkles around the eyes.

  • Definition of the jawline.

  • Restoring volume to hollow temples and cheeks.

An area that we do not recommend using Sculptra is to be injected in the soft, sensitive areas under the eyes.

What will the results of Sculptra look like?

Sculptra has such impressive results, it has been come to known as the “liquid facelift.” These natural as well as stunning results can last for up to two years.

When will I see the results of Sculptra?

Results are not as immediately drastic as other dermal injections due to Sculptra triggering your body’s natural collagen production. This is ideal for anyone who is interested in a natural and gradual result. To achieve preferred results, most individuals receive two to three treatments with at least a six-week period in between. This allows the body’s collagen production to become visible.

How long does the results of Sculptra last?

After the first session of injections, Sculptra may last for up to two years. The results of Sculptra last much longer when compared to other dermal fillers. However, everyone is different and may experience different results.
